East River Bank Serves a Winner in Providing Summer Tennis Clinics for Area Children

Roxborough/East Falls, PA – February 26, 2007 - Christopher P. McGill, CEO of East River Bank, announced that in a continuing commitment to support the local community, the bank is donating funds to provide for a summer tennis camp for the children of the Northern Home for Children and Family Service in Roxborough. “Everyone at East River Bank is thrilled to get involved in support of children; especially in conjunction with the Northern Home for Children and Family Service, The Arthur Ashe Tennis Center and Keystone Mercy.  All local strong institutions that provide essential services to so many people in the region” said McGill.

The tennis clinics will be held at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center, a 12-million dollar state-of-the-art facility named after the groundbreaking tennis hero. More than 8,500 children will play at the innovative tennis facility, which features 16 courts, eight inside and eight outside.

Sixteen tennis pros will instruct at the club. In addition to tennis lessons, the center also features a community outreach program, after school programs and enrichment programs. The children of the Northern Home will receive complete beginner instruction by the AATC staff.

McGill remarked, “With our Bank locations within blocks of Arthur Ashe and Northern Home we will be able to see first hand how this summer program will bring joy to all of the children that participate.  While at the same time, support the missions of two of our City's greatest assets for children and families."
