We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

- Information we receive from you on an applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets, liabilities, income and employment history, for example, in order to verify the accuracy of the information that you provide us or to determine whether a loan you have applied for is saleable in the secondary market.
- Information we receive from processing transactions and services on your accounts with us, such as balance information, to the operator of the interchange that processes our ATM and debit card transactions or in the response to a merchant to whom you are giving a check in payment of articles you have purchased.
- Information about you to governmental agencies, in response to subpoenas, or for required annual income statements.
- We may disclose the following information to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements:
- Information we receive from you on an applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets, and income; and
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, such as your account balances, payment history, parties to transactions and credit card usage; and
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history.
- Financial service providers, such as title companies, credit reporting agencies and insurance companies, such that the service providers are directly involved with the customer transaction or loan closing requirements.
We do not disclose any nonpublic information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.
How We Collect Information on the Internet
In order to better serve our community East River Bank may utilize a software tool known as "Cookies" to obtain information about a visitor's activities on our website. Cookies is a standard software tool.
A "Cookie" marks and identifies visitors on an Internet site. It is information sent from a Web visitor's computer while he or she is visiting the site. It can enable the site to track how a visitor navigates through a site and the areas in which they show interest. It can be used to recognize whether or not you have visited the site before.
Cookies and Your Hard Drive
It is important for you to know that Cookies does not enable us to read your drive, nor does it allow the Bank to gather any information other than what you have chosen to enter on the site. Cookies cannot be used as a virus and it cannot access your hard drive.
How long is the information from Cookies maintained?
A website may set an expiration date for a cookie. At East River Bank our use of Cookies is temporary and therefore, no information is maintained after you leave the site.
Can I set my computer to reject Cookies?
Yes, Both Netscape 3.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 allow you to set your computer to alert you before accepting Cookies. For Netscape, use Options/Network Preferences/Protocols. If you have Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can access Internet/Options/Advanced from the menu. Employing either of these options will allow you to read each Cookie and hit "OK" to approve it or "CANCEL" to reject it.
What happens if I choose to reject Cookies?
Once you reject a Cookie, it is thrown out. It will not be saved to memory or disk. However, a server may continue to look for the Cookie even if you have discarded it and then may try to replace it. If you try to log onto a site, which uses Cookies as part of the log on process, you may not be able to access the site. If this occurs, simply turn Cookies back on and try logging back onto the site.
