Switch Kit

We make it easy to switch to a better banking experience.  We have designed an easy-to-use Switch Kit to help you make a smooth transition to East River Bank.

  • Stop into either one of our locations to open your account or you may Download our Switch Kit Document

  • Open your East River Bank checking account

  • Do not pay bills or write any more checks out of your OLD checking account.  Let any checks you have written clear your old account, and be sure to destroy your old checks and any ATM or Debit cards associated with the account.

  • Move Direct Deposits to your new East River Bank account

  • When your East River Bank checking account has been opened and is ready to use, you will need to notify any companies or organizations who regularly make deposits into your account on your behalf to use the new account.

  • For Social Security Direct Deposits, please call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 or visit their website here: Social Security Administration

  • Move your Automated Payments and Withdrawals to your new East River Bank account

  • Use our Automatic Payment/Deposit Change Form in our Switch Kit to notify companies making automated withdrawals from your old account.
  • Download, print and complete one form for each company making an automated payment or deposit.

  • Close your old account

  • Once all of your checks and automated withdrawals have cleared your old account you will want to close it.

  •  You may close your account by sending written notice using our Account Closeout Form contained in the Switch Kit
