Christopher P. McGill, President and CEO of East River Bank and Bernard Guet, Executive Director of the Roxborough Development Corporation presented the winners of the Roxborough Slogan Contest with a certificate and AMEX gift card at an awards ceremony Tuesday evening, February 7th at the RDC. There were over 200 entries received and the co-winners were Jennie Tis and Marge M. Walsh. East River Bank was the corporate sponsor of the Slogan Contest.

On a beautiful day in early December, residents of East Falls and their councilperson showed what people working together for a better comminuty can do. Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. was on hand to dedicate the new playground at Inn Yard Park. The children even received a visit from Santa to make the day complete. East River Bank was one of the participating sponsors at this event.

East River Bank was a sponsor of the Entrepreneur Works 10th Annual Taste of Success bake-off/ cook-off & silent auction fundraiser held at Jack's Firehouse on Friday evening, December 2, 2011.

On Saturday evening, November 5, The Living Faith Award for being an outstanding benefactor of St. Bridget Parish was presented to East River Bank. Christopher P. McGill, President and CEO of East River Bank accepted the award.  Dinner, dancing and benefit auction followed at White Marsh Country Club.

On Friday evening, November 4, East River Bank was one of the sponsors of the Rock 'n Roll and Bid fundraising gala held at the Green Valley Country Club to benefit InterCommunity Action, Inc.

On Saturday evening, September 24th, East River Bank was a sponsor for the 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner' Benefit Dinner and Auction held at the Commodore Barry Club in West Mt. Airy.

East River Bank was the presenting sponsor of the Gorgas Park Summer Concert Series which culminates each year with the Harvest Festival. In addition to the festivities at the Festival, North Light Community Center celebrated its 75th Birthday in the park. East River Bank presented North Light with a 75th Birthday cake and lead the singing of Happy Birthday. Trick or Treat bags were provided for the children.

East River Bank sponsored the RoxArt Gallery which opened in April and culminated with the POST weekend events. Mr. Guet graciously recognized the sponsorship role East River Bank played in the success of the gallery.

East River Bank, a corporate level sponsor of the 3rd Annual Rest In Peace 5K Run provided drawstring backpacks for the runners and walkers along with Trick or Treat bags for the kids in costumes at the race in Laurel Hill Cemetary.

On The first East Falls Development Corporation's Dance on the Falls Bridge was a smashing success! The full moon illuminated East Falls as hundreds of folks learned to Tango and Salsa away the night! Drinks and hors d'oeuvres were served and guests received a red rose upon leaving. In addition, a silent auction was held to benefit the Schuylkill Center. The honorary co-chairs of the event were Rev. Dr. Liona Marshall-Blake, VP Community Relations at Independence Blue Cross and Mike Weilbacher, Executive Director of the Schuylkill Center. Special Thanks to Gina Snyder and the Dance Committee for a job well-done!

On Saturday May 7, 2011 the Roxborough community came to Gorgas Park for the 9th Annual Rockin' The Ridge Car Show. There were homemade crafts and candles for sale as well as games and a moon bounce for the kids. Classic cars from the 30's 40's 50's 60's 70's and 80's were lined up along both sides of Ridge Avenue and in the Roxborough High School courtyard. The event was a huge success thanks to all of the Friends of Gorgas Park volunteers and sponsors and of course, the Roxborough community. We hope to see you all again next year!

On Sunday, April 3rd, the FIRST SUNDAY at the ROXART Gallery event commenced. The event will run the first Sunday of each month through October 2nd. Each month, the gallery at the Roxborough Development Corp. will feature the work of a variety of artists from the MRAC and the community.

East River Bank was a proud supporter of the first annual Manayunk on Ice event February 11-13, 2011. There was fun, food, shopping and ICE. On Friday at 5 p.m. it kicked off with the Opening Ceremonies-Ice Bonfire, Saturday 11 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. marked the start of the the NICA Ice Carving Competition and a Fear No Ice Performance was held at 5 p.m. The bank sponsored the People's Choice Awards and hosted the voting booth to collect the ballots.
